US Killed Most Wanted Terrorist Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Leader Of Al Qa’ida In An Airstrike In Kabul

The United States successfully conducted an airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan that killed the emir of al-Qa’ida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. He was one of the world’s most-wanted terrorists, who oversaw the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, alongside the group’s founder, Osama bin Laden, announced President Biden.

The former deputy of Bin Laden was killed by a drone strike operation in Afghanistan at the weekend. President Biden announced on Monday at the White House that the US has successfully killed al Qa’ida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

He was killed after 11 years of Osama bin Laden was killed by the US. Biden said, Zawahiri, 71, was sheltering in downtown Kabul to reunite with his family and was killed in what a senior administration official described as “a precise tailored airstrike” using two Hellfire missiles.

The drone strike was conducted at 9:48 p.m. ET on Saturday and was authorized by Biden following weeks of meetings with his Cabinet and key advisers, the official said on Monday, adding that no American personnel was on the ground in Kabul at the time of the strike.
