In Washington, a home security camera captured a short glimpse of the bear cub walking quickly on the edge of the backyard fence. The baby bear had been snacking on birdseed after destroying the family’s bird feeder.

Where on a video a mother, Samantha Martin of Redmond, Washington chased the running toddle to the outside of their backyard when her two-year-old daughter Jupiter scrambled towards the bear to hug after she managed to sneak out the patio door.

“It was just a little baby bear, but my biggest concern wasn’t necessarily the baby bear so much as I didn’t know where the mom was and didn’t know how she’d feel about two humans running towards her baby,” Martin told the local outlet.
