CCTV visuals of the blast at a chemical factory in UP’s Hapur. 13 people have died while at least 15 with burn injuries in varying degrees are being treated at hospitals in Delhi and Meerut. Police trying to apprehend factory owner Dilshad, a resident of Delhi.
The incident took place on Saturday, the area at the factory in the UPSIDC industrial area in Dholana, around 80 km from the national capital when the police said. There were around 30 people in the place at the time of the explosion.
As you can see in the video the result of the explosion was so severe that the roofs of some factories located within the boundary were scattered and damaged. It took three hours for firefighters to douse the blaze.
The cause of the blast could be the reason firecrackers sparkled on an ignitable object which leads to a massive explosion. Officials have said that the factory was given a license to manufacture electronic items, however, it had been manufacturing firecrackers.
The owner of the factory has been named in a police case but is yet to be arrested.
