Abhishek Bachchan was questioned in a 2010 interview if he worried that his father Amitabh Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai could "overshadow" him because of their prominence. While actor-wife Aishwarya defended her husband and labelled the question "unfair," Abhishek simply replied, "no." Additionally, Aishwarya declared that she "really detested" the word "overshadow." Before and after getting married in 2007, Abhishek and Aishwarya collaborated on a number of films. When Abhishek was responding to a question about his wife and father's accomplishments in a joint interview for the Mani Ratnam movie Raavan in 2010, Aishwarya cut him off to reveal the "truth" about him. She remarked that Abhishek had "very well established himself" in Bollywood and had found a niche for himself. In response to a question about whether he was concerned about being overshadowed by Aishwarya and Amitabh Bachchan's celebrity, Abhishek responded, "No, not at all," in an interview with the BBC. Aishwarya had said, "I truly detest the phrase overshadow," in response to the query. Since that isn't the case at all, I believe it is unfair to ask and enforce this question on Abhishek at all times. He is very, very well established and has carved out a niche for himself thanks to his body of work and the kind of variety of roles. Before she excused herself from interrupting Abhishek's response, Aishwarya remembered how she had been asked similar questions in the past that were based on perception rather than reality. "The reason I'm interrupting is because I've been getting questions like, 'So you've been a model, and you've been Miss World, do you find yourself just getting roles where you'll be this gorgeous woman?' for the longest time," she added. In a similar vein, the perception stands larger than the reality despite the fact that we are all working very hard. I apologise for interfering with your response (to Abhishek). The truth must be said because it is true. Aishwarya is enjoying the success of her most recent Mani Ratnam film, Ponniyin Selvan: I, which is only the second Tamil movie to gross over 500 crore globally. Season 2 of Breathe: Into The Shadows included Abhishek's final appearance. In 2007, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai got hitched. They are the parents of Aaradhya Bachchan, who recently turned 11 years old.
