According to Delhi Police, a 28-year-old acid attack survivor was allegedly raped by the same man who assaulted her 17 years ago, after he had served seven years in prison.
After a two-and-a-half-hour chase through Karnataka, the accused, Kapil Gupta, 43, of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was ultimately apprehended by Delhi Police.
The victim filed a case at the Sultan Puri police station on March 21 alleging that on December 13, 2021, the accused came to her residence and forced her into a physical relationship with him by threatening her husband and children with acid attack.
“The accused then shot a video of the incident and threatened to make it viral on social media.” He forced the victim into a physical relationship with him after blackmailing her,” he added.
The Sultan Puri police station opened an inquiry into a case of rape and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code.
