Actor Jacqueline Fernandez detained at Mumbai airport by ED , stopped from leaving India .
Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez was reportedly stopped at Mumbai international airport over a ₹200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating.
According to sources, the ED has issued a lookout notice against the actor in the multi-crore money laundering-cum-extortion case.
An ANI report said a look-out circular (LOC) was issued with directions that she should not be permitted to leave India. She left terminal-2 of the airport through departure gate no. 3 around 5.15pm. The report further said she was supposed to fly to Muscat.
The agency on Saturday filed a charge sheet before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in this case and named Chandrashekar, his wife and six others in it.
It had alleged in the charge sheet that Chandrashekar had gifted the actor numerous costly gifts, including some persian cats and a horse. He is accused of cheating some people, including some high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.
However, Jacqueline maintains that she is a victim and extended to cooperate with the investigators. Jacqueline and actor-dancer Nora Fatehi have also been mentioned in the chargesheet.
