Amit Shah rejects discussions with Pakistan and assigns responsibility for 42K terrorist killings in J&K to three dynastic families
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday ruled out any discussion with Pakistan while going all-out to target the “three families that governed Kashmir for seventy years” in his first public speech in the Valley since Article 370, which conferred special status to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), was repealed.
As soon as the Election Commission has finished the process of revising the electoral rolls in the Union Territory, Shah said that the elections for the J&K Assembly would take place.Shah addressed the crowd and said, “Those who have reigned here for 70 years are offering me ideas that I should talk to Pakistan. “But let me be clear: I have no desire to speak with Pakistan. I would converse with the Paharis and Gujjars of Baramulla. I’ll address the Kashmiri youth. Terrorism has been spread here by them (Pakistan). What benefit have they brought to Kashmir? Only 15,000 crore have been invested in over 70 years.

The Modi administration’s “success,” according to the home minister, was to extend democracy to J&K’s rural areas. He asserted that prior to that, democracy was only available to 87 lawmakers, six parliamentarians, and the Mufti, Abdullah, and Gandhi families. “We have distributed it to 30,000 panches and sarpanches in villages.”According to Shah, since militancy began in 1990, terrorism has claimed the lives of 42,000 individuals in J&K. He urged the people of J&K to integrate into society by claiming that terrorism there has all but disappeared. “The Modi administration would not put up with terrorism. He invited people to integrate into society and participate in growth.Shah subsequently paid a visit to the border town of Uri to express his condolences to the family of Mudasir Ahmad, a police officer killed in a shootout with militants in May of this year. The senior brass of the J-K Police, Army, paramilitary forces, and intelligence services, as well as J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, were present at a security review meeting that the Home Minister presided over earlier in the day in Srinagar.
