Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that Assam government will spend Rs 300 crore in the next three years to initiate infrastructural development and upgradation of the district and sub-divisional courts in the state.
He also asked people not to overburden the judiciary with purposeless cases and proceed the court only for serious matter. Frivolous Cases are burdening the judiciary as a result the justice for victims of serious crimes getting delayed. The formal judicial system can dedicate themselves to work on time into serious cases such as murder and rape when frivolous cases are less in number, he said at the inauguration of the newly constructed court building of Barpeta district.
The Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and Guwahati High Court Chief Justice A M Chhaya inaugurated the new building of Barpeta Justice Court, on Friday. Guwahati High Court Justice N Kotiswar was also present in the inauguration ceremony.
