On Thursday, Tripura police issued notices to 28 people who they claim were responsible for attacks on BJP workers that resulted in roughly 25 injured during a public meeting of the party’s national president Jagat Prakash Nadda.
The incident happened two days ago at Khumulwung, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council’s administrative centre (TTAADC). One individual has been detained thus far in relation to the case.
Seven cases were filed following the event at various police stations in the West, Sepahijala, and Khowai districts.
“Police served 28 accused persons with notices under section 41A CrPC during the course of the investigations. In addition to this, one individual was detained, and more raids are being carried out to detain other people connected to these incidents, according to a police release.
The police response came days after chief minister Dr. Manik Saha requested the police, regardless of the accused’s past, take strong action against them.
