Blasts reported in Belochistan province
Two blasts occur in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Four political workers died and 13 others injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s restive southwestern province of Balochistan.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “both attacks have been successfully repulsed while inflicting heavy casualities to terrorists.”The explosion occurred as the workers from an Islamist party were leaving a venue following a conference in the provincial capital of Quetta, and i is known to be the home of several Islamic Insurgencies.
Senior police officer Fida Hassan Shah tod APF “At least four political workers were killed and 13 others injured.” Pakistan is fighting several low-level insurgencies in the impoverished province, waged by Islamist, separatist and sectarian groups. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack which the chief minister of the province. Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, opined that it was an act of terrorism. The injured patients were shifted to Quetta while nine others were taken to hospital in Kharan District.
