Ukraine has so far been denied a no-fly zone by NATO partners, with one senior US senator, Marco Rubio, warning on Sunday that it may lead to “World War III” against nuclear-armed Russia. If a no-fly zone is implemented, President Vladimir Putin has warned that it will have “colossal and disastrous implications not only for Europe but for the entire globe.”
Russian military bombarded Ukrainian cities from the air, land, and sea today, with indications that an assault on Kyiv was imminent.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has vowed to punish everyone who “committed atrocities” in the war, which has killed hundreds of people, including women and children. “We will not forget, we will not forgive,” Zelenskyy declared of those implicated.
In an address, Zelensky exclaimed, “It’s murder, purposeful murder,” and warned of additional shelling on Monday. “We will not forgive, we will not forget, and we will punish everyone who committed atrocities on our soil during this war,” he declared. “On this planet, there will be no tranquil spot but the grave.”
Meanwhile, a third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine aimed at ending the bloodshed is slated to begin on Monday.
