Actress Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by the Delhi Assembly’s Peace and Harmony committee, which is chaired by AAP MLA Raghav Chadha.
The queen of controversy is back in the news. The Delhi assembly’s commission on peace and harmony has summoned actress Kangana Ranaut for her anti-Sikh statements, according to sources. Ms. Ranaut has been summoned to appear on December 6 before a committee chaired by Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha. Raghav Chadha recently questioned officials from Facebook India, which is now officially known as ‘Meta.’
According to sources, Ms. Ranaut has been summoned because of her “derogatory remarks about Sikhs.”
“The committee has received multiple complaints about, among other things, grossly offensive and disparaging Instagram images purportedly published by yourself on 20.11.2021 through your official Instagram account…” the committee wrote in a letter to Ms. Ranaut signed by its deputy secretary.
Ms. Ranaut’s “blanket labeling (Sikhs) as Khalistani terrorists… has the potential to promote division as well as cause severe humiliation to the whole Sikh community,” according to the summons letter.
Meanwhile, the Sikhs have filed a first information report, or FIR, against the actor in Mumbai, alleging that he used discriminatory words against them on social media.
