Fisherman catches ‘living dinosaur’ sizing up to 10 and 1/2 feet long, says, one of the largest he’s ever seen
A fishing guide recently caught a gigantic sturgeon in a Canadian river during a trout encounter. Bisson struggles to direct the beasts’ heads toward the camera in the footage, stating, “Look at this, this fish is around 10 and a half feet long, certainly 500, maybe 600 pounds.” Sturgeons are often considered to as living dinosaurs because of their Jurassic-era origins. Bisson is an expert on the Fraser River sturgeon, and he believes his viral monster capture has been around for more than a century. These aquatic anachronisms do not appeal to sturgeon guides.
He told USA Today that we were only able to tag it, and that he estimates he has caught around 22,000 sturgeon in the last two decades as a guide, because their mortality rate is 0.012 percent, and our world-renowned tagging technique has the data to back it up.
“They are the strongest freshwater fish in the world and the mortality rate for angling is 0.012 per cent, so basically they never die, and our world-renown tagging program has the data to back all this. People who watched this fisherman’s once-in-a-lifetime catch online expressed disbelief that such animals really exist.” he stated.
