India trounced Namibia by nine wickets on Monday. India raced to 136 for one in 15.2 overs, chasing a target of 133 runs, with KL Rahul hitting an unbeaten 54 runs off 36 balls. Rohit Sharma, the opener, too made a half-century with a 56-ball 56.
Following India’s elimination from the 2017 T20 World Cup, captain Virat Kohli took to social media to thank supporters for their support while also admitting that the team is “disappointed” with recent performances. India defeated Namibia in their last Super 12 match in Dubai on Monday, but were unable to advance to the semi-finals when New Zealand defeated Afghanistan on Sunday.
The 33-year-old posted on social media while sharing photos from the tournament, “We went out to accomplish our goal as a team. Unfortunately, we fell short, and no one is more dissatisfied than the team.”
He proceeded by thanking everyone for their support, saying, “All of your support has been tremendous, and we are grateful for it all. We’ll strive to return stronger and with our best foot forward. Salute to India “..Jai Hind
Kohli’s last game as India’s T20I captain was likewise a win over Namibia. He will continue to lead the side in ODIs and Tests.
In Group 2, India came in third behind Pakistan and New Zealand. Pakistan, New Zealand, England, and Australia are the teams that have qualified for the semi-finals.
