Anand Mahindra, the Indian businessman, has once again called out a comment that has been incorrectly attributed to him. The Mahindra Group Chairman rushed to Twitter on Sunday to publish a screenshot of the disputed comment, claiming that it was “totally manufactured.” He also threatened legal action and expressed his unhappiness through two memes.
“An average Indian man spends his days following women on social media, investing his hopes in sports teams, and leaving his ambitions in the hands of a politician who doesn’t care,” read the comment ascribed to Mr. Mahindra, who is an active Twitter user with over 8.5 million followers.
The quote was posted on an Instagram page called “startup founder,” according to the screenshot Mr. Mahindra shared.
“It appears like it’s a hunting season on you with miscreants on the internet,” a colleague informed Anand Mahindra, 66 while sharing the comment. “Another completely made-up quote that has been erroneously ascribed to me. I’m going to take legal action, “He went on to say more.
“Whenever I discover more fakes!” Mr. Mahindra said, “I’ll upload the two memes to the right, below!” The first meme features a photo of the industrialist with the statement “I never said that.” The second image is from the film Jolly LLB, in which actor Arshad Warsi states “Ye log kaun hain kaun hain ye log kaun hain y Who are these individuals, Kahan se aate hain? What are their origins?”
