Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), expressed discontent over the large police presence outside the Islamabad High Court during the hearing of a terrorism case brought against him on Thursday and warned to become more dangerous if imprisoned.
In response to Islamabad Saddar Magistrate Ali Javed’s report that the PTI leader threatened a female judge of the federal capital during the rally on August 20, the PTI head has been charged in a terrorist case. Khan entered the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday amidst heavy security.
Imran expressed his anger to media regarding the extensive use of police and other law enforcement agencies at the court. He questioned why the government had stationed a sizable number of police officers outside the IHC. Imran declined to say anything further, claiming that the court would interpret his remarks incorrectly, and stated he would respond after attending the session, according to The News International.
Imran informed reporters in a conversation with the media after the court decided to indict him in the contempt of court case that he had wanted to contextualize his remarks about the woman judge in the court but had not been given the chance to do so.
