The Indian men created history in the hockey game in Tokyo Olympics 2020. India won the bronze medal match against Germany 5-4 in the bronze medal match for the first pulpit finish in 41 years today.
India won the last hockey match in 1980 when it won its 8th gold at the Games.
The entire nation came together to celebrate the win and cheered for the Indian hockey team as it will bring home a medal after 41 years. Hockey being the national game of India always impacts the people of the country and winning a medal after 41 years in Olympics games made every Indian celebrate.
The Vice-President of India congratulated the team over a historic win, he took to tweeter to congratulate and wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to the Indian Hockey team for winning the Bronze medal in a keenly fought contest against Germany! The team displayed excellent professionalism and the entire nation is proud of their achievement.”
Indian Cricket player Suresh Raina also congratulated the team, “We are super proud of your efforts & this victory will forever be cherished” tweeted the player.
Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her feelings by tweeting “41 years was a long wait. Well done boys and Team. You’ve been stunning on the field. We are all so proud of you. Jai Hind”.
Many other players and celebrities also took to their social media and congratulated the team.
Meanwhile, Manipur also celebrated the historic win of team India in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and celebrated for the son of Manipur Nilakanta Sharma, a hockey player in the Indian Team. He made the state and the country immensely proud.
The neighbors of the player and his relatives came out of their houses, beating drums, dancing, and celebrating the win.
Punjab’s Hockey player Mandeep Singh’s family in Jalandhar also celebrated after Team India clinched the bronze medal in Men’s Hockey in Tokyo Olympics 2020.
