Jodhpur Police Arrested 97 Accused; CM Ashok Alleged BJP In Involvement

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s hometown in Jodhpur, was under curfew even during Eid due to following clashes between two communities on Eid. 97 people were arrested by Rajasthan Police after the clashes erupted on Eid and its eve in Jodhpur.

The clashes broke out over the stick up of Eid flags on the Jalori gate circle, which led to stone-throwing at policemen leaves at least five of them injured on Monday night. Police used tear gas and batons to scatter the throng on Monday night.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has alleged a BJP role in the violence as they caused it deliberately to divert the attention of inflation and unemployment issues.

“This is the agenda of the BJP because inflation, unemployment has gone so far up, they cannot control it. So, they are doing this deliberately to divert attention.” Said the CM of Rajasthan Mr. Gehlot.

The incident occurred when the Parshuram Jayanti festival was in progress within three-day at Jodhpur.

The series of communal violence conflicts became the most reported accounts across the country in the past few weeks, including in Delhi, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

Curfew continues in parts of Jodhpur, including Udai Mandir and Nagori Gate, while the internet remains suspended to stop the spread of rumors regarding the clashes that occurred in the area. So far 97 people who were involved in the clashes between the two communities were arrested by the Rajasthan police.
