Meghalaya Governor doesn’t care of positions: “Remain silent if you want to be the President”.

Satya Pal Malik, the governor of Meghalaya, lashed out at the Modi government on Monday. Taking a shot at Prime Minister Modi, Malik claimed that the BJP government had enticed him to run for President and that if he remained silent, he would be elected.

He said the position of governor is unimportant to him while speaking at a Kisan Samman event organised by Kandela Khap and Majra Khap in Kandela village here on Sunday. Malik has been a vociferous critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government at the Centre on a number of subjects, including the now-repealed three agriculture legislation.

When he had to meet the prime minister about farmers in January, he had claimed that the latter was “arrogant” and got into a fight with him within five minutes.

Malik claimed that the prime minister’s mansion was only a few kilometres from the farmers’ protest location near the Delhi border, and that many farmers had died during the year-long agitation.

“However, no one from the government came to offer condolences,” Malik claimed. He claimed that he has never compromised his ideals and has always advocated for farmers.

The Governor once formerly stated, “Nobody’s father has made me Governor,” in response to those who allege he is speaking out against the Modi government despite the fact that he was nominated to the role by them. He argued that Prime Minister Modi nominated him Governor and that if he is ordered to resign, he will do so immediately.
