Meghalaya will display tableaux along 12 States/UTs on Republic Day
During the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 at Rajpath in the national capital, twelve states and Union Territories, including Meghalaya, as well as nine ministries and departments, will display their tableaux. Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are among the other states.
The main function will start at 10.30 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. to allow for better visibility by the time the flyover takes place.
However, due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the number of visitors to the Republic Day parade has been drastically reduced and will be between 5,000 and 8,000. The Pandemic has impacted every field including the celebration of 50 years of Meghalaya Statehood Day which was expected to be solemnized in a grand celebration but restricted were imposed taking in view of the rising virus infection.
