New Omicron Cases: Maharashtra 23, Gujarat 7, Kerala 5; Review meeting at 10 pm by Maharastra CM
On Thursday, Maharashtra reported 23 new Omicron cases, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 88. Thirteen were discovered in Pune, five in Mumbai, two in Osmanabad, and one in each of Thane, Nagpur, and Mira-Bhayander.
Gujarat confirmed seven more Omicron variant cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 30. According to ANI, as many as 25 Omicron instances are active.
Kerala confirmed five additional Omicron cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 29, according to state health minister Veene George.
Karnataka’s health minister, Dr. K Sudhakar, stated on Thursday that the state had discovered 12 new cases of the Omicron Covid-19 strain. The total number of Omicrons in the southern state now stands at 31.
According to an official statement from the CMO, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray will hold a Covid-19 review meeting with the state task force later at 10 p.m., as the state continues to report rising numbers of Omicron cases.
