The Brahmaputra River erodes Assam schools, forcing children to learn in temporary classrooms

The Assamese district of Morigaon has been severely affected by Brahmputra River erosion, which has rendered many residents homeless. Houses, schools, and temples have all been destroyed in the last three months. The pupils can still attend class temporarily thanks to the arrangements that have been established. Government statistics show that the state has already lost 4.27 lakh hectares of land to soil erosion. The inhabitants had to relocate to safer areas. Due to river erosion, many communities were also left without a place to live. "Due to erosion, my land and house were destroyed. God alone knows how I survive.
