The new variant Omicron is faster spreading, affecting people even with three doses

The new Covid variation has created widespread concern and fear, as the fast-spreading coronavirus variant could be much more harmful than the Delta form. As a result, some nations have imposed travel restrictions from impacted regions, and financial markets around the world have crashed.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated Omicron as a novel coronavirus variation that is “of concern.”

According to the WHO, it had a substantial number of mutations and early research revealed an increased risk of reinfection.

The variant, which was announced by scientists in South Africa on Thursday, was detected in two more countries, Israel and Belgium. Botswana and Hong Kong are the other countries where the variant has been found.

So far, the WHO has received reports of roughly 100 genome sequences of the variation. Many of the affected persons had got all three vaccine doses, with at least one person in Israel receiving a third, booster dose.

According to current scientific evidence, the new variety has spread quicker than any previous variant, including Delta. The fact that several of the infected persons were completely vaccinated, including one who received a booster dose, suggests that this variety can also avoid the immune system.
