Bhuban Badyakar, a peanut seller from Kuraljuri village, Lakshminarayanpur Panchayat in West
Bengal cycles to villages to earn a living. To attract buyers, he sings a song called Kacha
Badam, the one that is spreading like a wildfire on social media, especially Instagram reels and
Twitter memes.
After Sahdev Dirdo ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’ went viral just a few months later Bhuban Badyakar’s
song ‘Kacha Badam’ went viral all over the internet. The song has become a nationwide
sensation.
These days it is rare to see small artists such as Bhuban Badyakar get recognized for their
work. But in the age of social media, many artists are getting their due recognition. People
on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms give shout-outs to these artists,
making them a viral trend on the internet.
Bhuban, who sang the viral song Kacha Badam, was not just recognized but felicitated for his
art by the West Bengal Police department.
People across the globe couldn’t stop themselves from grooving to it since the day Kacha
Badam became one of the most viral songs on the internet. Netizens seem to have been
hooked to the tune of this peppy song.
On Thursday, February 10, he was brought to the West Bengal Police Headquarters and was
felicitated for his peppy song.
While Bhuban Badyakar feels overwhelmed with the love he is receiving from across the world,
in an interview, he said, “The best part is I am not just a peanut seller now. People see me as a
musician and this is a proud moment for not just me but also my village. I experienced so
many things in the past few weeks. I must admit sometimes the attention is leaving me in an
awkward position. I am not used to this popularity. But I am happy and looking for a better future
for my family with the help of my musical talent,” he told Times.
In an interview with India Today, Bhuban shared that he never imagined that the song would be
such a hit. Calling himself privileged, he said, “Never thought that I will reach here. God’s grace.
Never dreamt of this. I just made the song.” Bhuban recalled how he saw his song on Youtube
and got to know that it had become viral. He said, “I came to know that the song had been very
viral overnight. You search YouTube, you’ll find it. People from Bangladesh came and asked me
how I am.”
When Dirdo’s Bachpan Ka Pyaar went viral, singer and composer Badshah reached out to the
young boy and made a remixed version of the song, featuring him, alongside Aastha Gill.
While Bhuban Badyakar collaborated with Amit Dhull, Nisha Bhatt for a viral Haryanvi remix
version of Kacha Badam.

Talking about his plans, Bhuban said that so far, he has not been approached by anyone
from Bollywood, but he mentioned that he is shooting for a song with BCCI president Sourav
Ganguly. The song, according to him, will come out on February 19
