United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II tests positive for COVID-19
Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms.” She may continue her light duties at Windsor for the coming week.
This announcement comes just two weeks after the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee, celebrating 70 years on the throne. Buckingham Palace said in a statement today: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for Covid. It is understood a number of cases have been diagnosed in the Windsor Castle team.”
Queen Elizabeth plans to continue medical treatment and follow all appropriate guidelines. Her Majesty will remain in the private residence under quarantine until she shows clear signs of improvement according to protocol standards for staff with patients infected with COVID-19.Doctors suggested Queen to let her rest, but she expects to maintain a reliable status as long as she follows the remaining guidelines with her current cold symptoms.
Queen Elizabeth II spent time with Charles and other members of the Windsor Castle home on February 8, when he hosted an Investiture at her Castle, before she tested positive.
