Assam was the scene of a horrible crime. On Tuesday, Assam Police arrested a 70-year-old man in Nagaon district for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl in the Rupahihaat area. Jainal Uddin, the man, was charged under sections 447/448/376 A, B of the IPC as well as Section 6 of the POSCO Act.
Notably, a 27-year-old guy from Assam was sentenced to life in jail on the same day for allegedly raping a juvenile girl. The accused was found guilty under Section 42 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
According to sources, the convicted offender was Debesh Biswas, a Dhubri town inhabitant who raped a 10-year-old child in January 2020. He is also accused of sexually abusing the minor while she was on her house’s terrace. However, in addition to the life term, the court imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Biswas.
