Assam: Gaiety of celebration marked 76th Independence Day for the 27th SSB Corps
India’s 76th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SSB 27th Corps Haveli, Guavagacha. In the Quarter Guard of the Corps on this occasion, the Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Abhishek Anand, hoisted the flag and saluted it along with the Director General of the SSB, Dr. Dr. The IPS read out the congratulatory message from the force personnel, and congratulated them all on Independence Day, as well as explaining the significance of that day, when our country gained independence.
The Director General Utkrist Seva Medal, which the Commandant had received from the Force Headquarters, was given to Assistant Subordinate Officer Hiren Gogoi on this occasion in recognition of his great efforts.
Following that, the Commandant gave out sweets to every member of the force as well as M-School pupils living in Sandiksha families.
On this occasion, the Vahini band team played the national anthem, and members of the force, as well as local children and school kids, staged a cultural presentation.
The Commandant of the Corps, Abhishek Anand M, presented 20 members of the Zonal Mahila Samiti to the officers in attendance, infused with Assamese traditional Gamsa. On the occasion, 150 local children received the tricolour from the Vahini.
