BJP releases unseen photo of ex-VP Hamid Ansari with Pakistani journalist, claims of connection…

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) launched a fresh attack on the Congress party, sharing a rare, unseen photo of Hamid Ansari, who was recently in the middle of trouble due to alleged ties with a Pakistani journalist.

As reported by Nusrat Mirza, Pakistani journalist visited India five times during the UPA era and passed on sensitive information collected here to their country’s spy agency, ISI. Nusrat Mirza allegedly said that he had visited India on Hamid Ansari’s invitations and also met him.

Meanwhile, Hamid Ansari dismissed the charges, claiming that he had never seen or invited the journalist to the nation, calling the charge a “litany of untruth.” Previously, the BJP accused Ansari of inviting Mirza to India, who reportedly spied for the ISI. The BJP has referenced Nusrat Mirza’s claims that Hamid Ansari discussed “critical and highly confidential” information with him. The ruling party has now presented evidence that the two people are linked.

During a news conference at the BJP headquarters on Friday, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia displayed a photograph of Hamid Ansari reportedly sharing a stage with Nusrat Mirza during a terrorism conference here in 2009. Gaurav Bhatia may be seen carrying a photograph of Hamid Ansari and Pakistani journalist Nusrat Mirza sharing a stage in a photo released by the Twitter handle BJP4India.

According to PTI, Bhatia stated during the news conference that persons holding constitutional positions should act responsibly and should not have shared the stage with Nusrat Mirza. Bhatia, who slammed the Congress party, went on to say that such programmes and inviting guests from overseas require intelligence clearance.
