Leopard Beaten To Death; 64 villagers were charged of killing and hitting Forest Officials

The killing of a three-year-old female leopard from Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, sixty-four of the villagers were booked on Thursday in Kathotia village.

The leopard attacked the villagers and injured 13 of them in Kathotia village inside the sanctuary in retaliation the villagers beat up the leopard to death on Wednesday. As well as hitting the forest officials when they try to stop them from beating the animal brutally and some of the forest officials were injured in this incident.

The FIR has been registered by the Forest Department at Murtiha Police Station. Among the 64 including 10 women were charged with killing the leopard and hitting the forest officials on Thursday and were booked under various charges including those related to Wildlife Protection Act, Criminal Law Amendment Act 7, creating a nuisance, and attacking the public servants, and obstructing government work.
