Singer Zubeen Garg was admitted to a private hospital over the weekend after sustaining a head injury in Dibrugarh town. However, doctors said that his condition was stable, despite the head injury.
The 49-year-old Garg fell in a washroom at a resort near Dibrugarh on Tuesday night, reports say. The MRI scan on Garg was performed at a private super specialty hospital. According to PTI, Rana Barua, a senior specialist at the hospital, he didn’t suffer any injuries and had an epileptic fit.
Doctors later informed that the artiste who has produced music for Assamese, Bengali and Hindi films (in Bollywood), had a “seizure following an epileptic fit”.
According to official authorities, Garg got a few stitches on his head. A CT scan was also performed to assess his status, despite the fact that he had no internal injuries and his vital indicators were steady. Aboard Wednesday evening, the singer was taken to Guwahati from Mohanbari airport on an air ambulance for advanced treatment.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had asked the Dibrugarh deputy commissioner to ensure proper healthcare in the hospital and to make arrangements for the artiste to be taken to Guwahati or outside the state for further treatment via air ambulance.
