Attack On Tripura PCC President Birajit Sinha by the “BJP Goons” After The Victory Of Congress
On the Statement Issued by Shri KC Venugopal, General Secretary, AICC. Stated that the Indian National Congress party has “strongly condemns” the attack on Tripura PCC President, Shri Birajit Sinha and other Congress workers by “BJP goons”, after the thumping victory of Congress party candidate Shri Sudip Roy Barman in the Agartala by-poll.

Tomorrow which is the 27th of June a three-member senior leaders delegation of the Congress party led by Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, MP, Shri Gaurav Gogoi, MP, and Dr. Naseer Hussain MP will visit Tripura regarding the incident took place today.
The violence erupted by vandalizing properties and carrying out blatantly violent attacks on the party office bearers.
“It is utterly shameful that the police stood as mute and complicit spectators while the goons stormed the office and attacked our office bearers.” mention in the statement.
This incident happened after the Congress Party candidate Shri Sudip Roy Burman emerged victorious in the prestigious by-poll for the Agartala assembly seat. Earlier, prior to the by-poll, the BJP goons had allegedly attacked Shri Burman and he has sustained serious injuries.
This is the fifth consecutive attack on Congress leader Birajit Sinha before which he was attacked in Dukli (2018), Kamalpur (2018), Majlishpur (2020), Bordowali (2022), and today after the by-election result, 26 June 2022.
