The price of a Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has been raised by Rs 50, which may come as a shock to the general public. Domestic LPG cylinders in Delhi would now cost Rs 999.50 following the recent adjustment.
The increase in cylinder costs comes as consumers throughout the country grapple with rising gasoline and diesel prices. The increase in LPG prices will exacerbate the plight of India’s common people.
Prices for commercial LPG cylinders were raised earlier this month. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was raised by Rs 102.50 on May 1, to Rs 2355.50, up from Rs 2253 before. A 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder’s price was also raised to Rs 655.
The current price increase in gasoline and petroleum products is owing to a dramatic increase in global energy prices as a result of the Russia-Ukraine scenario, which has caused supply concerns, resulting in a massive price increase and once again causing alarm among the general public.
