Madhya Pradesh: Poor Tribal Woman Goes to Collect Firewood, Returns with 4.39 Carat Diamond
Sometimes luck shows up when you least expect it, as was the case in Panna, Madhya Pradesh, which is well-known for its diamond mining, when a poor tribal woman discovered a valuable stone.
Gendabai, a local of the district’s Purusottampur hamlet who had gone to gather firewood in a wooded region in Panna, surprised her by returning with a 4.39 carat diamond.
She used to go the forest to get firewood, which she then sold to make money for food.
She found a beautiful stone Wednesday while busy gathering firewood, just a few metres away from her.
