Maharashtra Govt: CM Eknath Shinde to reduce VAT on fuel soon

On Monday, the State Assembly was informed by the newly appointed Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that the state government would shortly lower the VAT on petrol.

A decision to reduce VAT on fuel will be taken in the state cabinet, Shinde informed the House, while replying to a debate after he won the floor test.

He informed the House in response to a debate following his success in the floor test that the state cabinet would be making the decision to lower the VAT on fuel soon.

After winning the trust vote, CM Shinde also claimed that he had been marginalised for a considerable amount of time. In an apparent reference to his previous affiliation with the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, he described his revolt as the result of the poor treatment he had received.
