Schools, cinemas, and gyms shut: Yellow alert in Delhi amid Covid alarm | Check for more details
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued additional recommendations on Tuesday as part of the “yellow alert” declared in the national capital due to an increase in Covid-19 cases. In over six months, the city has had the biggest single-day increase in cases. When the positivity rate for two consecutive days exceeds 0.5 percent, or when the cumulative single-day positive instances for a period of seven days exceeds 1,500, a “yellow alert” is issued.
The following are the main regulations in Delhi:
1. All educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will be closed.
2. Movie theatres and gyms will be closed.
3, Restaurants and bars will operate at half-capacity until 10 p.m.
4. Food delivery via the internet will continue as usual.
5. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., a night curfew has been implemented in Delhi.
6. Between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., malls and stores will be open on an odd-even basis.
7. Standalone stores are no longer required to follow the odd-even criterion.
8. All spas, salons, and barbershops will remain open as usual.
9. While additional limits under Covid GRAP’s yellow alert are in effect, the Delhi Metro and public buses will operate at 50% seating capacity with no standing passengers.
10. For the length of the order, all big meetings – political, social, and religious – shall be outlawed.
